Adjust the oven rack to the center shelf and preheat to 350°. Grease and flour a 9x9-inch-square cake pan; set aside.
In a small bowl, sift together sugar, brown sugar, flour, baking soda, salt, and spices. In a separate bowl, whisk together molasses, water, and melted butter. Whisk the molasses mixture and eggs into the dry mix; blend well.
Pour batter into prepared cake pan. Bake 35 minutes. Top with Chocolate Glaze and serve hot or cold with walnuts and vanilla ice cream.
