Hawaiian Spareribs Recipe

Yield: Makes 6 servings.

  • 4 to 5 pounds pork spareribs
  • boiling, salted water to cover
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry powder

Parboil spareribs in water for about 20 minutes. Make a marinade with the remaining ingredients. Drain water from spareribs, pour on marinade, and refrigerate for 1 to 6 hours, turning to recoat once or twice. Barbecue or broil the spare ribs 4 to 6 inches from the heat, for a total of about 30 minutes. Or you can bake the spareribs at 425 degrees F, turning once, for a total of 45 minutes.
