Hot Water Cornberad

Very simple recipe to cook this very old cornbread item. Just like my granny made, Hope you like it.

Ingredients

3 cups Yellow or white corn meal,
one teaspoon salt,
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cupSugar
1 tablespoon Baking powder
3 cups Hot water ( Boiling)
2 cups Cooking Oil ( Veg or Canola )
Very important cast Iron skillett

Instructions

First combine the meal, flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Mix very well. Make sure the water is boiling. Add water to mix slowly stiring keep adding water till mix become pasety not too watery but not to thick. heat up the oil in the skilletttale a large spoon and spoon in the mix about 2 to 3 inch spoons at a time. this mix should make 13 to 15 pieces. cook on both sides till golden brown.
