Brownies:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1-1/2 cups brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon natural almond extract
- 1-1/2 teaspoons grated orange rind
- 4 eggs
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1-1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup slivered almonds, toasted
Cream together butter and sugar. Add honey, extract, and rind; beat until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Sift together cocoa, spices, salt and flour and mix in thoroughly. Add nuts and spread batter into greased 9x13 pan. Bake 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees F. until set. When cool, spread with frosting.
Frosting:
- 5-1/2 ounces premium white chocolate chips
- 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1-1/2 teaspoons grated orange rind
- 2-1/2 cups confectioner's sugar
Melt chocolate in double boiler and cool slightly. Beat cream cheese and butter, then add rind, sugar and chocolate. Beat until smooth.
