Lemonade Syrup

This recipe is from my mother-in-law and it makes the best lemonade I have ever tasted.


2 cups sugar
1 cup water
2 lemon rinds, cut up
1/8 teaspoon salt
Juice of 6 lemons (add after cooling sugar/rind mixture)


Boil for 5 minutes, cool. Add juice of 6 lemons, strain and store in covered jar in the refrigerator.

Add 2-3 tablespoons to a glass of ice water depending on your taste.

This mixture will last all summer if you keep it refrigerated.
