If you prefer, substitute ginger ale for the champagne.
Yield: Serves 10 to 12
- 1 quart apple juice
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 cardamom pods, broken
- 6 whole cloves
- 1 bottle sparkling wine or champagne
- ice
In a medium saucepan, combine the apple juice and spices. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes. Cool, and chill overnight in a large pitcher. To serve, strain the spiced juice into a punch bowl. Add the sparkling wine. Just before serving, add the ice.
