Orange Waffles

2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup milk
4 tablespoons butter, melted
3 tablespoons grated orange rind


Sift together dry ingredients and set aside. Combine eggs, milk, and butter. Add orange rind. Add sifted dry ingredients, half total amount at a time. Beat well after each addition until batter is smooth. Pour about ¾ to 1 cup of batter at a time onto preheated waffle iron, following manufacturer’s directions. Bake until waffles are golden brown.
