My family and friends love this cake. It was handed down from my Aunt Marie.
Yield: 12-14 slices
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1-1/4 cups milk
- 2-1/2 cups self-rising flour
- FROSTING:
- 1/3 cup peanut butter
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 3-4 tablespoons of milk
- 1 1-pound box of powdered sugar
- Cream together until fluffy. Frost cake. You can add more peanut butter and milk if you like.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together sugar, peanut butter, shortening, and eggs. Add milk and flour a little at a time. Pour into two round 8-inch cake pans. Bake until done.
