Radishes with Butter & Salt

This is an easy and delicious treat for guests who want a nibble before a meal. It’s inspired by a traditional French snack, and it tastes best when the radishes are fresh from the garden.


10-12 fresh radishes
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
Kosher salt


Trim the greenery from the radishes, leaving about 1 inch to use as a “handle.” Place the butter in a very small bowl or ramekin, and the salt in a saltcellar or small bowl. Butter each radish, then dip lightly in salt.
