Sour Cream Coffee Cake

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup sour cream
2 cups flour (sift before measuring)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla


Cream the butter and sugar together and add the eggs, sour cream, and the flour sifted with the baking powder and soda and the vanilla. Put half of the batter in a well buttered tube pan. Sprinkle half of the filling mixture and about ½ cup of raisins over the batter. Pour in the remainder of the batter and sprinkle it with the rest of the topping. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 35 minutes, or until done.

Filling and Topping


1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon cinnamon


Mix together brown sugar, chopped nuts and cinnamon.
