I live in zone 2 and i am

I live in zone 2 and i am wondering if there is a certain day in the month of march that is best for turning the soil for planting a vegtable garden?

The Gardening by the Moon's

The Gardening by the Moon's Sign chores and Moon Astrological Place days appear on pages 246 and 247, respectively, of the 2014 Almanac.
Turning soil, or as termed here, plowing, is best when the Moon is in Aries, Gemini, Leo, Sagittarius, or Aquarius.
Today being March 19, thes best days, according to the Astrological Place chart would be March 21, 22, 23 (when the Moon is in Sagittarius; march 26 and 27 (when the Moon is in Aquarius) and march 30 and 31 (when the Moon is in Aries).
Remember that this refers to astrological place, not astronomical place.
Happy gardening!

OH my, I have tried to plant,

OH my, I have tried to plant, cut hair and do many things by the signs. I have proven to many that it works, But I never fully understood exactly how it works, until I watched this video. All I ever new was that it worked. This video makes it so much simpler for me to explain to all my friends when they ask how it works. Before I would just have to show them my results. Like shaving my legs. I would do test shave them on below days and show them how long it took for them to grown out, then shave on the above days and watch them grow out... by the next day... Thanks so much for sharing this simple explanation that I never knew..

My grandparents, from

My grandparents, from northern Italy, did everything according to the phases of the moon, including cutting their hair, which always had to be done on the new moon. My nonno died at 88 with a full head of beautiful hair and my mother's hair, at 82 years old, is thick and beautiful. My grandparents' gardens were always bountiful and I think it must have had something to do with the fact that they planted according to the ways of the old country, which was so in harmony with all of nature. I would like to have even one tenth of the knowledge that they learned by osmosis!

Yes, that is very true. My

Yes, that is very true. My grandparents used to do that, as gramps was taught this technique by his father. Worked really well with most of our harvest.

what last date to plant collard, mustard, and turnip seeds

Hi, Rena, You do not indicate

Hi, Rena, You do not indicate where you are, but because you are asking late in September, I am going to presume that you are in the southern/sun belt. The Planting by the Moon Table in the 2012 print edition of the Almanac shows the best/Moon dates for a late planting of spinach (referring to your greens here) is October 15 to October 21. Turnip's second season planting dates are September 30 through October 14. If you are in an area that has a potential for frost, get the plants in now and hope for the best. We hope this helps!
