Annual Weather Summary: November 2012 to October 2013

Winter season temperatures will range from about 2 degrees above normal, on average, on the Big Island to normal on Oahu to 1 degree below normal on Kauai and Nihau. The coolest periods will occur in early December, late December through early January, mid- to late January, and early February. Winter rainfall will be above normal on the Big Island, much above normal on the central islands, and slightly above normal on the western islands.

April and May will be much rainier than normal from the Big Island westward to Oahu, but drier than normal elsewhere. Temperatures will be above normal, on average, except for near normal on Kauai and Nihau.

Summer season rainfall and temperatures will be above normal, with the hottest periods in mid-May, late June, early July, early to mid-August, and early September.

September and October temperatures will be warmer than normal in the east and cooler than normal in the west. Rainfall on the Big Island will be much below normal, while rainfall elsewhere will be above normal.
