High Plains Long-range Weather Region

Despite a cold February, winter will be about two degrees above normal, on average. Snowfall will be near or below normal in most of the region, while precipitation will be a bit above normal in the north and a bit below normal in the south. The coldest temperatures will occur in mid-November, mid-December, and early and mid-January, with the snowiest periods in mid-November, early and mid-January, late February, and late March.

Although April temperatures will be well above normal, on average, some of the year's heaviest snow will fall in midmonth. Overall, April and May will be warmer than normal, with near-normal precipitation.

Summer temperatures and rainfall will be slightly above normal, with the hottest temperatures in mid- to late June and early and mid-July.

September and October will be warmer and drier than normal.
