In addition to Jewelweed (Impatiens spp.), Caesalpinia gilliesii (Hook.) D. Dietr. has seed pods that explode when ripe. It's a dessert plant and the pods explode from heat. I harvested some wild seed pods two years ago and they were sitting on the counter in my kitchen when they exploded. They flew everywhere! I managed to get some of them to grow, and finally this year the first one is blooming!
