This is a user-submitted pet food recipe and has not been tested. Please check your pet’s dietary and nutritional requirements with a veterinarian before using this recipe.
Ingredients
- Plain Yogurt (for added flavor you can stir in a 1/2 tsp of cinnamon)
- Cheerios or other oaten cereal or granola
- Banana, sliced thin or mashed
- Chopped apple or pear
- Chopped nuts (sunflower seeds, walnuts, almonds, peanuts, etc)
- Peanut butter (optional)
- Cream cheese (optional)
The parfait can be made in a large Kong or a hollow bone of a biscuit ball (I’ve even done it once in an empty tennis ball canister). Be sure to plug up the small end of the Kong or hollow bone and the three smaller bone shaped hole in a biscuit ball with either duct tape or a lightly frozen layer of peanut butter or cream cheese. Start layering with with yogurt (wet), then cereal or granola (dry), yogurt, banana, yogurt, etc. End with yogurt (wet). Freeze at least 6 hours (overnight is best). Serve and watch the fun!
