Baked Vidalia Onions


4 large Vidalia onions
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
1/4 cup bread crumbs


Peel and slice the onions ½ inch thick. Saute the onions in the butter until they’re soft. Stir in the flour; then slowly add the broth. Spoon the mixture into a buttered baking dish and top with bread crumbs. Bake at 325 degrees F for 25 minutes.


Makes 4 to 6 servings.
