Butterscotch Squares


1 cup butter
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs beaten
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla
dash of salt


Heat the butter and sugar until dissolved. Cool. Add the eggs, blend, and sift in the combined flour and baking powder. Mix well. Add the remaining ingredients. Spread and bake on a greased cookie sheet in a 350 degree F oven for about 15 minutes. Cut in squares.
