Cranapple Crunch


1 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1-1/2 to 2 cups cranberries
4 to 5 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
4 tablespoons lemon juice
1-1/2 cups uncooked rolled oats
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
1-1/2 tablespoons flour


Bring sugar and water to a boil; add cranberries, and cook until skins pop. Toss apples in lemon juice and place into a 9-inch pie pan. Pour cranberry mixture over apples. Mix oats, brown sugar, butter, and flour, and sprinkle over fruit. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 40 minutes.


Makes 6 servings.
