Down East Turkey Stuffing


1 stick butter or margarine
4 or 5 potatoes, mashed
4 onions, chopped fine
1/2 loaf stale bread, torn
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon parsley
4 tablespoons savory
2 eggs


Add butter to mashed potatoes. Mix in onions, bread, salt, pepper, parsley and savory. Add eggs when mixture has cooled down. Stuff turkey and cook accordingly.

This is also good just baked, uncovered, in a dish for 30 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

Yes, Debbie, that is supposed to be 4 onions. You can of course cut down the amount of onions based on your taste.
