Ginger Switchel

Switchel (also called Haymakers’ Punch) may be chilled, but switchel served in the hayfield was never served colder than the well water it was made from. 

Ingredients

3/4 cup sugar or honey
4 tablespoons vinegar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 quarts cool water

Instructions

Mix ingredients together thoroughly.
