Lion's Head Meatballs


1-1/2 pounds ground pork and beef (equal amounts of each)
2 to 3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons dry sherry
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons cornstarch
3 tablespoons minced onion
1 teaspoon minced ginger root
6 water chestnuts, minced
1/2 cup cold water


Place all ingredients except water in large bowl. Mix well, then gradually add the water, stirring vigorously for 8 to 10 minutes. Set aside.


Serves 6.
