Maple Syrup Sundae Sauce


1-1/4 cups pure maple syrup
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons butter


Combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil. Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool slightly, and serve warm, over your favorite ice cream.


Makes 2 cups.
