Mushrooms in Cream

This may be served as an accompaniment to an entree, or poured over buttered toast as a lunch or supper dish.


4 tablespoons butter
1 onion, chopped
1 pound sliced mushrooms
salt and freshly ground pepper
juice of half a lemon
2 tablespoons flour
3/4 cup cream


Melt the butter in a frying pan, and cook the onions until they are transparent. Add the mushrooms, and cook for a few minutes. Add the seasonings and flour. Cook for 5 minutes before stirring in the cream.
