My grandmother used to make

My grandmother used to make these and taught me when I was a child. We'd all sit around the table as she pulled them out of the fryer, dredge them in lots of powdered sugar and eat them hot. It's wonderful to actually see a recipe for them. She also used the mixed fruit peels and citron instead of just orange.
