Wash and dry the chops and season them with salt and pepper. Combine the other ingredients, except the cream, and stuff lightly into the slits. Place in a baking dish, cover with heavy cream, and bake for 1-½ hours or until done in a 350 degrees F oven. It is convenient to bake sweet potatoes or sweet potato pudding at the same time. Cornbread, too, if you have a hungry family.
