Neither the map nor the link will respond. I live in Canada. Does that have anything to do with it?
Canada has a separate map. The Almanac shows it at:
http://www.almanac.com/content/plant-hardiness-zones
Looking at the bigger picture two windows later, Cleveland, Ohio did not change
You're lucky. My zone changes with each map and they still don't have it right!
Looking at this map, I cannot bring out my zone or read those tiny kittle numbers in the strip on the right, so, I am not sure it changed
Just click on the map or the link, and it will open up a larger picture on the USDA page:
http://planthardiness.ars.usda.gov/PHZMWeb/Default.aspx
On this page, you can also enter your zip code so they will help you identify your zone.
I'm getting pessimistic about this years gardening season. We have had a lot of winter moisture, which is one of the ingredients we need for good gardening but it just refuses to warm up here in the eastern prairies. Usually we're safe by mid April to begin planting our fruits and vegetables but I just dont think it will be the case this year. I see another repeat of 2009.. we will be covering up our plants in June and we'll be replacing short sleeves with jackets this summer. We probably won't be picking strawberries next month like we normally do. Last year we got the warm weather but we didnt have the moisture, this year we have the moisture but no warm air.
Say thanks to the people that wished for a real winter! They got it
