Calling all golf fanatics! The U.S. Open is being held next month, and aside from the applause, it looks like it is going to be one thunderous event. The Old Farmer’s Almanac says to be on the lookout not for Fore!, but for Thor!

A Thunderous PGA U.S. Open

This year, the U.S. Open is taking place at the Pinehurst Resort and Country Club in North Carolina from June 9 to June 15. According to The 2014 Old Farmer’s Almanac, this is right around the time when thunderstorms are expected to scatter through the area. What does this mean for the tournament? This could lead to delays—or maybe just a few more umbrellas blocking your view.

Temps are expected to be relatively cool until the weekend, when things will get hot and humid, with isolated t-storms. The tournament will thankfully be ending just as the hottest periods of the summer hit. Hopefully, the skies won’t “Open” up too much. It may be a good idea to pack an umbrella, just in case.
