We live in Iowa which is the very top of Tornado alley. when there are tornados, visitors were always shocked to hear the weather man say "...don't be going out and chasing them! ...don't be standing outside watching them...seek shelter!" we never thought anything of it until we heard comedians making jokes about us chasing them. when one is announced people usually go out to look for it, once it gets close - they run back into the shelter. I'm not advocating it by no means, it's just we didn't realize how others perceived it until then. Course this was also before 'storm chasers' became popular too.
Thanks for this week's blog. I especially appreciated the chart. I always wondered exactly where "Tornado Alley" was located. And, having grown up in OK, their peak is impressive.
