Heat and Dust in NM

I am currently out of state but friends are telling me of terrible dust and how there is now a red-flag alert for AZ and NM for fires...it is surprising not highlighted here somehow...

Temperature

Phoenix will be getting hotter and not cooler as too much buildings being built and not being protected from holding in heat as only one in a thousand do to keep heat away and try to keep it cooler.
Eventual the heat here will keep breaking records as it has the past few years since 2000

temperature in Phoenix

Hi, Edward, I completely agree with your analysis. I am currently reading about how to reduce my carbon footprint and trying to paint my house shingles with a paint that is suppose to reduce surface temperature from 174degrees to just 10degrees above outside temperature. Why doesn't anyone or any agency do anything to combat this affect. Why do people not have any common sense? I am just in sales and not a particularly smart person but at least i am trying to better myself and not leave a mess for my children.

Forecast correct for Phoenix

My first time here but had been wondering if the oldtime Almanac forecasts were available, as I care for outdoors animals and have been so concerned about them with the winter so cold, that is, cold for us Phoenicians. Sure, our temps are warm for the rest of the country but if living here for a while, one's temp adjusts and so this is indeed cold for us here. In fact, I don't recall temperatures this cold in my 20 years here.
Also, I have observed a '20 degree cooler feeling factor' with our very low humidity. Namely, no matter what the temperature, with the dryness here, it always feels 20 degrees cooler - based on my growing up experience in Wisconsin - than the actual temperature. So, 40 degrees here, as the temp here is right now, feels like 20 degrees. If it were 80 degrees, feels like 60. If 110 degrees, yeah, it's hot, feels like 90 degrees.
Thanks for the forecast so I can best help the outdoor animals I care for! Will look around your great site! Many thanks!

Forecast incorrect

Southern NV - Las Vegas area during December, January, & February have been unusually warm. Daytime temps averaging mid 60's to low 70's. My apple trees are blooming - in the first week of February! My summer tomatoes are still producing and never died back. My blueberry bushes only went dormant for 3 weeks because I had to force dormancy by removing the leaves. Global warming & climate changes are happening.

Vegas in winter

Thanks for the update!

FINALLY! SNOW!!!!

Woke up on this beautiful February day (my son's birthday!) to see our little homestead in the Estancia Valley covered in white loveliness. Maybe NM will finally get the moisture we need!

Warmer than normal

Warmest Jan and Feb that I have exp'd in Southern Nevada. We are in the 3rd week of upper 70s, almost 80 the other day.

Warmest winter months...

The Pacific Ocean and other influences may not be in line with our predictions… We can’t fool Mother Nature—but we hope you get the weather you want!

Projected summer temps

Projected temperatures in the Desert Southwest between June and Sept 86 degrees? i wish.Page 233 of the Almanac is where i am looking. Am i reading something wrong here? That can not be right
