Couldn't Be Worse...or could it?
Recent summers have been torrid in the Boston area. This summer, it was not so much the heat as it was humidity. The two previous, both! Along with the oppressiveness, a lack of rain, especially this summer. Few thunderstorms, and only one that could be described as strong. I noted very little lightning over the ocean in the course of this summer. To cap it off, smoke from western wild fires. I swear it was a factor in my being able to get close-up photos of an immature myrtle warbler. That bird looked infirm, at times, or at least lethargic. I just can't commit to a cold, snowy winter given what has preceded the last several years. Humanity - pejorative to climate change!
Couldn't be better
I'm a fan of warm weather, so I enjoy record warm temperatures for Most of the year. I prefer above average but not record setting during the summer. I enjoy Record setting temps from October-May. I also live in Southern New England, and I hate snow. (BTW Coastal Connecticut is where I'm at.) I hope the winter of 2020-2021 is 50s-60s for most of the days. OBV there's going to be cool times but as an average I hope it's in the 50s-60s. Would love to see 70s!
Brutal summer, IMO
I’ve Iived here my whole life and absolutely hate mid-Atlantic summers. Fall can’t get here soon enough. And I’m so much hoping for a snowy winter, but doubt it. It seems like this region becomes more and more like a southern state each year that passes. Long brutal summers and mild winters. I’d love to live in the far northeast.
Predicted forcast
Pretty much off the mark for July August. As far as the predicted 2020-2021 winter forecast goes, any good yankee knows if you have a particularly hot dry summer you will have a colder and snowier winter. Lets see who's closer.
Better Not Be a 2020 Winter. A Dud.
The winter of 2020 was trash, no snow. Some cold. Not really. I really hope the winter of 2021 brings snowstorms that give 2-3Ft of snow at a time. Especially to make up after last years dud of a winter.
PAINFUL HOT SUMMER
I am ready for Fall and Winter. Let it snow storm 6 feet deep!! I hate the summer months, besides the Hurricanes it stinks. Bring on the cold.
RETIRED AND LOVING IT
It has been my first year of retirement and I am loving it. We had such a mild winter I was able to get so much accomplished outside. It has been really great. The higher temps have slowed me down a little but no complaints. I certainly hope we have a mild winter again and the virus goes away. So sad to see everyone on pins and needles trying to guess what to do. I guess we will see not much we can do about it but wait it out. Already planning next years gardens can't wait.
Im loving this summer
So even tho most of us are on lockdown I am enjoying this hot weather in my backyard in my pool.
WAY TOO HOT
Welcome to summer on the East Coast! I've lived through hotter summers, for sure. But this summer, without A/C, is kicking me in the you know what. No Rain, just "pop-ups" -- very humid. I'm thinking about retiring some place with mild summers, like Seattle!
Awful Summer
The NE is really experiencing hot and humid temps this year...damaging sun rays, parched lawns, very little rain and uncomfortable folks! Autumn can’t get here fast enough.
