Florida weather

It's called the beach, that's what we did as kids. Or if you don;t live by the coastline. Florida has the greatest theme parks, all children oriented. You need your head examined. I loved growing up in South Florida for that matter. Had to relocate for 3 years in Texas, came back as soon as I could. The heat is no big deal until the month of September and we're back in school by then.

1. The rivers and springs are

1. The rivers and springs are better than the beaches (except for the emerald coast, and Daytona beach.)
2. The theme parks can be summed up like this. Spoiled brats, hot dog water, land-whales, fanny packs, rip offs, and scams.
3. Why in the world would you like south Florida, I've been all across the southern U.S. and parts of the Midwest, and I can firmly say everything south of the Peace river and Orlando is absolute garbage (except Naples and Key-west, they're ok.)
4. Why would you leave an awesome state like Texas, for the 2nd trashiest part of the south east?

He must be from Canada

Sunshine State

Steven, In my opinion, your comment is right on the money. My advice, think long and hard before relocating to SWFL. The weather is nice here during January and February. After that, you may be uncomfortable with the ever present humidity. Moved here thinking it might help my back pain, but it has been worse than the dry cold regions.

you are so rightttt!

Moved here from NY 17 years ago to get away from the freezing cold. But found ouy later it is not good for arthritis sufferers. This summer has been horribly painful.

Weather in Fla

Steven, you are right on the money. I take extra time to teach my kids how not to just accept what they see around them. The people here are idiots. Idiots who can't handle a damn cold snap, so they come here. I love the cold. I am stuck here, but I hated it the moment I landed here. My kids gain weight in summer, lose it in winter. It's so hot, you have to pay to go to some inside bouncy house crap just to keep them active so they don't pass out in 95 degree constant heat. Yeah, Florida: stay on vacation, leave on probation.

So true!

every word is true! still regretting my departure from NY smh.

Then Go Back!

Seriously! GO BACK TO NY! I moved down here from DC to get away from people like you! There is no better place than FL except during the winter months when we are overrun by NY'ers. GO BACK!

Go home

Yeah!! If these people hate it so much don’t come to Hollywood!!! It’s overpopulated and don’t need you!!! Stay out!

A blessing

As a child of the seventies growing up in Cleveland, I grew up on Flipper reruns and was awed by the place the television showed as Florida. I made it a lifetime goal to become a teacher and move here. I did it and I love it. Yes, it is hot, but Cleveland winters are the worst. They are amlost always gray and yucky. I suffered from depression because of such a lack of sunshine. Most of the people here have been kind, and considerate to me and my family. I have made many friends. Pinellas County has a wealth of parks that I take my kids for exercise. We go to museums and fishing too. No place is one hundred percent perfect, but it is almost perfect here.
