Grand Marais in mid-Dec
Thank for the update, Ted. Let us know if you get snow; we are predicting near to below-normal snowfall. Cheers!
time for a nice Spring
Since IL had snow on Oct. 26-27...and an early Winter devoid of an Indian Summer; hoping for an early Spring in February 2019.
Spring...
Spring will come on schedule on March 20, but—are you sitting down?—so will more snow, if our prediction is even 80 percent accurate. Snow and cold temps are the sum of the forecast for March 6 to 28. But hey—the days will be longer and, with April, warmer.
Thanks
Thank you for providing a general idea about the weather to EXPECT in the next few months. [ As for Nick's comment, a wise man once told me that if you argue with an Idiot you are the Idiot ].
Expectations . . .
Thanks! We hope that everybody gets the weather they want!
Weather forecast
Talk about a worthless forcast - you might as well say likely to get cold this winter esp in Dec and Jan and warming up as Spring comes
long-range predictions
The Almanac does long-range predictions. It’s really about whether it will be colder or warmer than average. And whether there will be more or less snow than what’s typical.
Damn , right
It will be a snowy Christmas. We will get 2-4 inches of snow either on the 5th or 6th of February. The snow will last from around 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. We live in the South Elgin, IL. It will NOT BE TWO DAYS IN A ROW!

Forecast for my class reunion
We were concerned about the weather for our 45th reunion. Everyone was hoping for cool weather so we could wear long sleeves that cover our "bat wings". That day the forecast (as per the local news) was for the 60s. I knew better cuz I had the Almanac's info: 90s. By the time of the reunion it was 101° & very humid.I threw caution to the wind & let my freak flag fly by going sleeveless. I was comfy all evening & my friends were sweating heavily. You're my go-to forecast now.
