November 2019

I'm just ready to see how November and the rest of winter actually turns out here in the PNW. Record snow? Dry? There's pretty varied speculation even from experts in the field.

how much snow did i get?

we got 4 feet this last winter

Just want snow

Wonder what the probability of snow is this year? I am in the Seattle area and the snow we got last year was amazing!

Snows Coming

I believe we are going to be much cooler and wetter this winter and snow will be much higher than average for most areas from the California/Oregon border into British Columbia. We could end up seeing some very significant weather that is far from normal for the PNW.

Snow late 2019

The 3-4 inches of solid ice on our sidewalks in Seattle didn't melt for over a week last year. It's pretty but turns immediately into ice. Snow here is not like the east coast, midwest, California or Utah. Even wearing snowboots and using ski poles you can slip on our icy sidewalks, and forget about driving on the hills, which are everywhere. When I lived on a steep hill in Fremont, the only way to walk down to the market was with snowshoes. Anything else and you just kept sliding back downhill. YouTube shows spectacular car and bus crashes on Capitol Hill, and Queen Anne is the worst. Even its trolleys won't run.

I doubt it will snow: this has been the hottest year on record, though it's cooled off a bit in the last two weeks. The big snow usually happens here in February; sometimes there's a little in Nov. or Dec. We haven't had normal weather for a good five years.

Snow

You definitely don't know what your taking about. I came from the east coast. Yes queen ann and Capital hill are bad for a week with 4 inches of ice on them. But consider this, the east coast has had eight to ten inches of ice on there sidewalks in the past. And it lasts for six months.

COOLER AND WETTER EARLIER

Much cooler and wetter than normal. Summer left one day and we went right into fall in Seattle area.
It's like the sun left and has no intention of coming back. Dark clouds and wet days. Not fun.

BOO WHO

I THINK THE COOL WET WEATHER IS GREAT AND WE NEED IT AS OPPOSED TO THE HEAT + DRY...

RE:BOO WHO

Amen to that. Without the snow pack in the hills, there will be a drought and a lot of wildfires.

Weather

Where you come from Seattle rains to much your crazy to think that.....
