Low rainfall!

I'm in agreement Ron and am getting quite fearful as to what next summer will bring. This past winter was relatively dry then we went through a long, hot summer. I have ponds on my land and they aren't filling up. Usually torrential rains during late October and November would have done the job. My wife noticed no geese or ducks. I said there's little water for them to have an easy take off once landing. We usually have flocks of them coming in. We're not too far from the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge. The have access to the river and estuaries associated withe Columbia River, but streams and inland ponds that need rainfall are low to dry. I had to dig a grave for one of my pets. The ground was like concrete below several inches and this was in an area of rich topsoil. All we can do is hope and pray. : |

Climate change ... this is going to get worse till Co2 levels dr

You have to understand that c02 is the thermostat of earths biosphere. It really does regulate how much heat is allow to escape into space or hold onto it raising the temperatures. Earth has seen one case of climate change 52 million years ago. But that took thousands of years for animals to adapt. This time around, its only been 138 years since the industrial revolution where co2 has spiked 410 ppm. Co2 has normally moved up and down from 180 to 280 ppm for 6,000 years.

N.W.

I work outside for a living and the weather patterns are scary I've never in 30 yrs experienced the heat we have had and now not enough snow pack stress on plant material I take care of is obvious I fear for my child and the earth she will and is inheriting

Western Washington Weather

Last year Old Farmer's Almanac stated that we would have a colder than normal winter here in the Seattle area and we didn't see any frost until near November, no snow until Christmas Eve. This year, it says we are to expect a warmer than normal winter.

If last year was colder than normal, then this year it might as well be a rainy summer. I'm hoping that the prediction is wrong and that it actually gets cold this year.

Snow in Olympia on November 3rd

It dumped last November 3rd in oly

whoa, your wrong

We had snow in November... where do you live? The ocean coast?

Been dry no rain at all.

October was very dry and sunny. Same as nov forecast shows sun through mid month. It's climate change, no longer can you predict the weather accurately based on past trends. Paradise ca whole town burnt where my family is. 3 family members houses burnt. 8 percent humidity in nov. Same as here in klamath region just 3 hours away. It's time to change the way you forecast. The old ways don't work anymore sorry.

So sorry to hear about your

So sorry to hear about your families homes, John.

Paradise fire cause climate change or negligent PG&E plus poor f

I moved from Colusa, Ca two years ago to W. Wa. I worked in sales and Paradise was part of my territory. I used to stop and buy antiques, it was so close to home. My husband grew up in Sebastopol near Santa Rosa. The fires there are nothing short of a travesty and possibly avoidable. Everyone laughed at Trump when he talked about raking the forest but forest rakes are real. They’ve been used for a long time and even tribal members would rake the debris from the forest floors for fire prevention and mgmt. it’s no longer legal to do this in Ca. There was a bipartisan bill that Brown vetoed last year while Santa Rosa burned that would have mandated forestry mgmt. He was off on a tour telling the world about climate change. Both of the recent cataclismic fires were caused by negligent power companies, not climate change. The climate is changing but that doesn’t mean we should lie about how these things happened. We need people to take responsibility for these things and prevent them from happening again. Saying they were caused by climate change lets the responsible parties off the hook. Don’t perpetuate the lies, be a part of the solution.
