PNW weather

We came from Northern California where it was over 100 degrees for 4 to 5 months of summer. We are now living the evergreen state instead of desert. Refreshing is an understatement! But It was the 4 months of fires and tremendous smoke that drove us out.

Weather in Washington

We moved to the east part of the state and find little rain this side.Do get some snow but not too much.Very pretty here.

Cool Weather Makes It More Livable

People have lost their sense of perspective for the last couple of decades. There was a time when there was only a couple of months of warm weather and no one had air conditioning at all. I see the weather at 72 degrees with everyone having their car windows rolled up with the climate control on releasing additional hydrocarbons in the air. Spring and summer is for driving the country roads with the windows rolled down. The cooler weather is great for woodwork building custom kitchen cabinets or a new dining room table. Why go to a country fair when it’s so darn hot?? You ever try to build an old hot rod pickup on a hot day?? Then when everything is green.....to include your yard, the plants pull more carbon out of the air. The weather now is allot more warm than it was decades ago when the Columbia River froze hard and people drove on it to Portland. There was allot more flooding too....

2020 PNW Summer

I never understand why people are surprised when we get a cooler summer! It's Western Oregon/PNW -- totally normal weather. I love it! Keeps our forests green and lush. Looking forward to cozy autumn and maybe some snow this winter? Fingers crossed!

Summer weather

Hi what’s the rest of year forecast for August though December

2020 oregons summer

Oregon repeats cooler summers every so many years 2012 this is 2020 I told a lotnof friends we will have a clouded summer they thought I was nuts' I told them living in oregon 57 years gives us experience we ate due for these cooler temps aided by a cooling thermal barrier protecting us from the mid state heat

There’s No Place Like Home!

“What’s the weather like?” Should I wear shorts or a sweatshirt? They say, “variety is the spice of life.” If that’s true, then we PNWerners are a spicy bunch! An Indiana transplanted said it well when he exclaimed the virtues of Portland. Drive an hour in any direction for a new adventure. Mountains, ocean, dessert. We’ve got it all! Just pack your swimsuit and coat so you’re ready for any weather. What a glorious land! I always have and always will love the Pacific Northwest!

60 years and now two seasons

I was born and raised on PugetSound. I hated the cold wet season...as i got older we gradually lost the four seasons....the warm Springs and cold Falls....ponds and lakes frozen over and the two weeks of snow in Winter....people avoided the NW when i was young and made jokes about the gloom and constant drizzle of Rain....then it went on the list of best places to live....half the population of the midwest has moved to the Coast over 60 years and Californians are migrating in mass....they can have it....too crowded and too expensive and the weather is more dismal than ever...trying to break 60 degrees today....June 6...rain...Really! ....survived the double usual rain last winter to have a miserable Spring....great for growing grass....but it reminds me of why i chased the Sun most of my life...and ensures...i move to the Tropics....very soon....good luck..you.. new so wealthy immigrants...get your nine yards and horses and enjoy the allergies and cloudy mornings ...mold and mildew..and blackberry bushes.

I find it humorous that so

I find it humorous that so many people up here in Washington are always so quick to say it's never sunny and always gloomy. I have checked past reported weather over the last several years. Granted, I wouldn't call us the land of sun, but February, May, July-September, and even October has beautiful sunny weather. Our summers, especially further inland can top 90 degrees. Do I wish we had more sun, sure, but it is not near as bad as people make it out to be.

Summer 2020

Last summer was absolutely beautiful! Fantastic! I look forward to this summer! All the picnics and BBQ's. Adventures in nature! I feel so blessed to live in the beautiful Pacific NW!
