2021 Long Range Weather Forecast for Southeast

Winter temperatures will be above normal, on average, with the coldest periods in mid- and late December and throughout January. Precipitation will be above normal in the north and below normal in the south. Snowfall generally will be below normal, with the best chance for snow in early January. April and May will be a bit cooler than normal, with above-normal rainfall. Summer will be cooler and drier than normal, with the hottest period in mid-July. Watch for a hurricane threat in early August and a tropical storm threat in mid-August. September and October will be cooler than normal, with near-normal precipitation. Expect a tropical storm threat in early to mid-September.
