Weather and Tulips

The Editors's picture

Bob, Yes, the weather in Indiana is going to start calming down after today. The rest of the month is 40s and 50s. Usually, tulip flower buds aren’t harmed by snow as long as they don’t experience round-the-clock freezes.

Siberian Husky

Started shedding February 15 2018. Earlest I have ever seen her start shedding.

W.PA forecast

My horses back in the middle of july told me it was going to be a bitch of a winter and they were right. They started shedding 1.5 months early. That indicator along with the impending deep solar minimum told me that it was going to be bitterly cold, much below normal and a ton of snow.

The horses and I were right.

MY forecast, next winter is going to be on par, most likely worse!

Winter Weather In Pennsylvania In 2018 - 2019

The Coldest Periods Will Be In Mid-December Mid-January And Mid-February And Mid-March And The Snowiest Periods Will Be In Mid-December And Mid-January And Mid-February And Mid-March. In 2018 - 2019 In Western Pennsylvania. Do You Agree With That. That's What I Want Just Like This Winter Of 2017 - 2018 Cause We Didn't Had Very Much Snow In 2016 - 2017. But We Did This Year. I Wanted It The Way It Is Like In 2014 - 2015. I Wanna Have a Horrible Winter Next Winter In 2018 - 2019 In Western Pennsylvania. Do You See It What It Says On There.

Winter Weather In 2018 - 2019

I Think We Might Have Alot Of Snow Next Winter In 2018 - 2019 And We Did Had Very Much Snow This Year. Snow Is Pretty Isn't It. I Think We Might Have a Bad Winter Same Thing Like This Year. As Always. I Like Snow The Most. We're Probably Gonna Have Alot Snow Next Year Just Like It Is This Winter.

Weather is screwy this year

I agree with Nick, The Almanac for zone 6 was dead wrong. Also what's up with mother nature? Nicks says hes still seeing things. .People are finding ticks already in January? I have seen bees in January. This is not normal, Then again nothing is normal in Ohio. Are we having an early spring or is mother nature lost her balance?

Weather is screwy this year.

Hi Kristensen, Insects will wake up when temps get above 50 degrees. It's called diapause (I may have spelled that wrong). They are cold blooded and will go to sleep when temps go below 50 degrees. I have found it to be quite normal in our region to have 50 degree temps in January.

Spot on

So far Almanac has been spot on for my area (Southern llinois). I hope the March snow forcasted doesn't happen!
