Will Mobile, Al get snow?

Mobile immobilized by snow...?

It could happen. So far as we can tell, the first time it snowed in your area (nd was recorded) was on January 24, 1881, when 5 inches fell. It has snowed a bit since then. See here for details: http://blog.al.com/live/2014/01/coastal_alabamas_snowy_past.html

We are driving from FL to Gatlinburg, TN for our honeymoon in mid Feb, 2019. Should we rent an all wheel/4 wheel drive car?

I would say, “yes”. The roads are steep and very curvy. If you are staying in a chalet or something similar, it’s probaby got narrow, hilly lanes leading to it. A four wheel drive SUV or truck would be a plus.

That's where I honeymooned in February 1999.. Absolutely gorgeous.. the roads are very steep and icy. I would certainly recommend all wheel drive with good tires.

highly unlikely

It is highly unlikely that a 4 wheel drive vehicle will be needed in this part of the country in mid to late Feb. We start warming up around then and snow fall has happened before/but is unlikely to warrant the need for an all terrain vehicle. A simple front wheel drive vehicle should work just fine...unless we get a storm like March 1993.
