Weather

You think the Almanac is wrong? Listen to your local weatherman predict next weekend!!!!! The weathermen are only people I know that can screw up and do a bad job, and still have a job!

Farmers Almanac for planting the crops:)

Here I am 60 years later depending on the Farmers Almanac to help me with planting my flowers. They have been pretty much spot-on for me. I'm happy we still have the Farmers Almanac to turn to for information on a variety of subjects. It also brings back many fond memories of my father reading the almanac to me before I was old enough to go to school & learn to read it for myself. It's a family tradition as much as eating fried chicken on Sunday!!

Wrong

Both the old and new farmers almanac are always wrong. Yeah they may get one or two correct but 98% of the time they are wrong. They have NW Ga with a higher precipitation than normal for Jan and Feb but currently we're below average (In a drought actually). Farmers almanac should be taken with a grain of salt.

"Cannot Predict"

It appears the best thing for YOU to do would be not to waste your time with Farmer's Almanac, therefore keeping yourself informed elsewhere. My personal opinion, just as yours was.

Don't like it?

Then why are you here, bothering to comment? You make no sense.

Predicting weather

I'm sure that gathering all information needed to give us weather information in all the different areas of the US is quite a job in itself. I am 62 years old, I can remember all of my relatives going by nothing but Farmers almanac to do their farming, which was their way of living and they counted on Farmers almanac and I would bet that all Farmers today are still going by it. Is is broken up in categories, with so many states in each category, I live in Louisiana, deep South, so if snow is predicted for the deep South, i know that doesn't include Louisiana, when Louisiana did get snow in 2017, Farmers almanac had already forecasted it by actually naming Louisiana but normally it's not. So when reading the Farmers almanac you need to know how to incorporate it with the area you live in but it was originally for Farmers, gardeners and a very reliable source for them for the most part. They have never claimed to be 100% accurate but I tell you what, they stay pretty darn close. The bottom line is no matter how good you are as a meteorologist, God has the final call. He is the one who controls our weather, other than that most important fact Farmers almanac is the best weather information we can get. Also I want to add, I don't know about other TV stations but our local TV weather meteorologist uses the Farmers almanac in his weather predictions, doesn't hide the fact that he does. Sometimes he will say, the models are saying this but Farmers almanac is saying this and folks I'm in agreement with Farmers almanac more so than the models because of this and that reasons. So yes you can see I'm a firm believer in the Farmers almanac!!!!!
