Snow or no Snow? I want to know!

I heard that this year is going to be a 'polar coaster'. Also after recently visiting a local wolf and fox preserve, one of the foxes (named Jasper) was attributed to knowing when the winter was going to be harsh and when there was going to be a early snow storm by growing a winter coat early on. When I went in late August, he already had a winter coat fully grown in. I believe Jasper; the animals seem to know more than we do.
Thoughts anyone?

Snow

The Editors's picture

For the Atlantic Corridor, we’re predicting that it’ll be a warmer-than-normal winter, with notable snow first making an appearance in mid- to late January. However, animals do know their stuff, so maybe Jasper will end up being right this year. Only time will tell!

Weather

Absolutely right. Animals know a lot more than us humans

NYC Jan/Feb 2020

What is the weather likely to be then?

Snow Fall

Is it expected to Snow mid Dec 13th onwards ??

Winter

Will we see snow?

Cooler Temps

When will we start seeing cooler temperatures in NYC? Like no more highs in the 70’s and 80’s. I am tired of wearing shorts and t-shirts and hate exposing my skin.

heat is on!

Uncanny how summer 2019 followed the summer of 2018. Just not as hot. Just had a thunderstorm yesterday. Sep thunderstorms almost always portend a mild winter. Oct thunderstorms assure a mild winter. If it's another mild winter it'll be the fourth consecutive. ( rare ) 2014 -15 the last cool winter which was very snowy from late Jan. to mid Mar. I believe the OFA has abandoned their old formula for long range winter forecasting. That formula relies heavily on solar activity. ( low sunspot counts, cold winter; high sunspot counts, warm winter. ) We are currently in a sunspot minimum. While I have never put much stock in sunspots, I do think this winter will be less mild than last. I'm sure increasing co2 of which humans are contributing is moderating world climate. Perhaps OFA has taken notice!
