AUGUST 2014: temperature 80.5° (0.5° above avg.); precipitation 5.5" (1" above avg.); Aug 1-6: Scattered t-storms; hot, then cool; Aug 7-15: Daily t-storms, very warm and humid; Aug 16-22: Sunny, nice; Aug 23-31: Daily t-storms north, isolated t-storms south; warm and humid.

Annual Weather Summary: November 2013 to October 2014

Winter will be colder than normal, with below-normal precipitation and snowfall in all but the northernmost part of the region. The coldest periods will occur in early to mid- and late December and in early to mid- and late February. The snowiest periods across the north will be in late December, mid- to late January, and in early to mid- and late February.

April and May will be slightly rainier than normal, with above-normal temperatures, especially in the north.

Summer will be much hotter than normal, with near-normal rainfall despite a hurricane threat in early to mid-July. The hottest periods will occur from mid-June through early July and in early August.

September and October will be drier than normal, with near-normal temperatures.
