A coarse-textured bread that goes well with salads and cheese.

Yield: Makes 1 loaf.

  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup all-bran cereal
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 12-ounce can beer, at room temperature

Mix the flour, salt and cereal. Add the eggs, honey and butter or margarine. Mix well and then add the beer. Beat and put into a well-greased, floured 9-1/2x5-1/2x3-inch loaf pan. Bake 35 to 45 minutes, or until brown in a 475 degrees F oven.
