Winter temperatures will be above normal, on average, with the coldest periods in late December, early to mid-January, and early to mid-February. Precipitation will be below normal in the northeast and above normal in the southwest. Snowfall will be above normal in the southeast and below normal in the northwest, with the snowiest periods in mid- and late January, mid-February, and early March. April and May will be cooler and slightly drier than normal. Summer will be slightly cooler and drier than normal, with the hottest periods in early to mid-July and mid-August. Watch for a tropical storm threat in late August. September and October will be rainier and slightly cooler than normal.
