OFA Services

Thank You, OFA! I truly appreciate your endeavour to provide weather data, gardening info, & all the wonderful information OFA shares! I agree people should not use OFA as a complaint board! The people complaining, have they paid for a specific service, that can be disputed in a litigation forum? I think NOT! OFA is not a platform to waste time, reading a ridiculous complaint! Respectfully, R.M. Villa, Blackfoot~Cree Nations Elder, Missoula, MT, USA.

May is very False and Untrue

We are in St. George Utah which is in intermountain South region. Right now up until May 22 we are suppose to be every day 15-20 degrees below normal and have chance of precip. everyday. Your prediction states we are suppose to be approx. 4 degrees above normal for the month of May Very Untrue

Comments

Almanac.com should remove the comments section. People only use it to complain, and honestly nobody using this site should be complaining. Nobody cares about their ridiculous complaints. They should use their freedom of choice to use another, far less accurate site, try being an active jacka$$ about social issues instead. Everyone thinks they should have a platform to release all their nonsense and/or ruin someone else's whole day. Get a grip people everything you think does not need to be known by all. Weather is hard to predict, if is inaccurate stay in bed until it's the way you want it.

Such complaining

My gosh, what's with all the complaints?! The OFA does a pretty decent job, but weather is not 100% predictable, and if you don't care for the site then just browse somewhere else. They do a lot better than most other sources. And it is a lot of work to put together so many long range forecasts, and two months for free. I think thats pretty good. I don't see any of the main stream weather sources putting out predictions months in advance. Geez people have become so spoiled and complain way too much, it gets so old!! I think The Old Farmer's Almanac is doing a great job!!!!

Hey Shana

Sorry didn't mean to reply to your comment, I meant to hit leave comment. Nothing I said was in direct relation to your comment. Oops

Chart vs Verbiage Predictions

Looking at February >>> Your Chart shows no precip of note and your verbiage up above states snowiest in Mid/Late February. Well. Oopsy on the chart because your verbiage is correct. Idaho and Western MT breaking all kinds of snow records. :) Might want to line up your chart and verbiage next time. :) I'm sure it was just an oversight.

precip chart

The Editors's picture

Donna, the charts for each region correspond with the monthly predictions for the region in temp and precip; it is a visual representation. For February, we predicted “(avg.)” precip. On the chart, that is represented as a flat line/nothing above or below the line. The precip does not include snow, btw, either. We did predict above-normal snowfall in northern portions of this region for the season, so so far, pretty good, it sounds like. Thanks for your comments.

Frozen Flathead

Funny that flathead lake hasn't frozen over since my eldest was born 21 winters ago either!!! The old farmers have, lets a difficult time predicting future forecasts with over 7 billion people on the planet constantly changing current conditions... oversight or lack of precedent?

Weather

Hi, Where is St. George Utah under (southern Utah) which section, all I know is its showing above normal temps December thru June which so far is totally wrong since October we have had almost every day 10-15 degrees below normal temps. and above normal precip. The weather for Feb. (next 10 days) so far is mostly suppose to be in 40's and 50's where normal average is usually low 60's
