The weather for Feb. (next 10 days) so far is mostly suppose to be in 40's and 50's where normal average is usually low 60's

Idaho Falls

Is Idaho Falls considered central or north when reading these?

Idaho Falls

The Editors's picture

Idaho Falls would be considered central, but because it is also in the northern portion of the region, it would be wise to consider the forecasts for both North and Central.

Snow in Flagstaff

We were hoping to take a long weekend either this month, January, or next month in February to go visit Flagstaff. Our youngest has never seen snow and we were hoping there'd be a decent amount when we went for them to play in. Is there a weekend coming up in one of those months where we'd have more luck than the others? It doesn't look like there's much at all right now.

Re snow in flag

There has been quite a lot of snow but quite a lot of sun as well. The snowstorms come and dump easily one foot of snow but it melts very quickly once the clouds leave. The mountain is having a great winter, however. A total of 30” dumped on it this last week. I believe a total of 140”+ of snow up there this season so far. And it’s not like we’re bone dry at the base either, we still have snow on the ground but not the super beautifully impressive kind that’s on the mountain. We’ve only seen that after the snowstorms.

SNOW,, for EASTERN WASHINGTOM

I KEEP reading that 2018 is going to be WARMER... I really was wanting SNOW AGAIN... I GUESSS NOT,

eastern Washington

The Editors's picture

We are predicting above-normal temps and above-normal snowfall for the Intermountain region, especially in late November, late December, early and late January, and mid- to late February. Put your zip code in here for details: https://www.almanac.com/weather/longrange

temperatures in Crawford CO in early December

any comments for my upcoming trip the first week of December 2018?

Crawford, Colorado

Crawford is around 6,800ft above sea level, so from mid-November to late April it's best to pack in winter preparation. Daytime is below 40 as a "Usual" and Night falls significantly lower -- into the teens or below.

Layers are important if you plan on being outside. Bring a good pair of snow boots. In your vehicle -- bring snacks and water, and a blanket or two "just in case." Come in (as in back to where you're staying) from outdoor excursions before nightfall (it's very easy to make significant changes in your elevation and not even realize it, and the temperatures get Lower faster the higher you go). Don't be fooled with hydration.

If you've never been to Colorado -- I hope you enjoy your trip as much as I enjoy living here!

2018 WINTER FORECAST FOR RENO, NV

Hi, I don't like snow. I believe it should just snow in the mountains for the dedicated skiers. LOL. But below that where I am snow is not a good thing. Can you kind of give me an idea of just what weather Reno, NV will have this winter? 2018/2019. Certainly would appreciate it. Thank you!
