I am searching for information on droughts...

Droughts are the result of persistent upper-level atmospheric flows. No one has yet been able to explain the formation of a drought. Experts do not even agree on the definition of a drought. A drought ends when upper airflow patterns change and allow moisture back into a particular area. Rain dances don’t work, nor does the position of the Moon or the alignment of the planets break a drought.

Although droughts are still a mystery, scientists are working to uncover the mechanisms that cause them.
