Is there a way I can make my own chocolate-covered coffee spoons?
Answer
Making chocolate-covered coffee spoons is a great way to get rid of those odd plastic spoons lying around your house. Thoroughly wash and dry the spoons. In a microwave oven or the top of a double boiler, melt 1 tablespoon butter and 4 ounces semisweet or milk chocolate. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons nondairy creamer. Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then dip the spoons up to their necks in the chocolate. Let the chocolate harden with the spoons resting on a plastic plate or a piece of aluminum foil or waxed paper. Put them in the refrigerator if necessary. Dunk a chocolate-covered spoon into your coffee two or three times, letting it dry after each dunk. Let it dry completely, then tie on plastic wrap, like a Tootsie Pop, to use the spoon again later.
