What did C-rations contain?
Answer
The first C-rations, developed by the U.S. Army in 1938, contained cans of biscuits and meat-and-vegetable combos. Due to complaints, the ration was constantly being improved for taste, variety, and packaging. In 1983, it was replaced by the MRE, or β€œMeal, Ready to Eat,” which offers entrees such as chicken tetrazzini in a pouch.
