What is ice fog, and when does it occur?
Answer
Ice fog is composed of suspended particles of ice. It occurs at high latitudes near sources of water vapor, such as oceans and streams, or even herds of animals, when it is very cold, clear, and calm. Ice fog is unlikely to occur if it’s warmer than 20 degrees below zero.
