The Old Farmer’s Almanac invites readers to enter this year’s recipe contest! The topic for the 2023 edition is recipes using ginger!

Ginger is the root of Zingiber officinale, the ginger plant. It can be used whole, ground, cooked or raw, adding an aromatic spicy kick to many foods from baked goods (gingersnaps) to sauces and marinades to Asian dishes. Ginger’s also popular in drinks from ginger ale to ginger beer to ginger tea.

Not only does ginger add brightness and flavor to food, but it’s also a healing spice with proven medicinal qualities such as aiding nausea and bloating. So adding ginger also supports your well-being!

Enter any recipe that uses ginger, fresh or ground, below.
